The Passing of the Drumstick

Last Tuesday was a sad day. It marked the end of an era. Rai attended his final music class at Music Together on Sacramento Street. He had developed a particularly strong bond with the teacher he's had for the last two levels. Teacher El became a household name and weekly music class with Grandpa was an event in his weekly routine that Rai treasured above all others.
To say goodbye and thanks to Teacher El, Rai made a nice card for her. She could barely look before tears came to her eyes for, naturally, Rai was her best pupil. The good news is that this doesn't mean the end of music classes in our household. Rai is simply passing the baton, or rather, drumstick, to little Ko who will commence his musical journey sometime next year.
Rai has taken all he can from these classes. He can confidently boast that he now can clap, move, and dance to a beat. He even impressed Lalima the other day when she came by for a visit to our new home. Was she impressed? You bet!
