We were thinking about what a big deal New Year's Eve was for us just 10 or 15 years ago. When you're in your teens and early twenties, each new year promises lots of big changes and growth. As you get older, with stability comes routine and changes are less frequent. That's a good thing but it also means that the New Year feels just like the old year and New Year's Eve can pass by almost unnoticed.
One of the great things of having a family, though, is that our children keep things fresh. The new year isn't about us and what will happen in our lives, but about them and all the exciting changes they'll go through and things they'll experience. Happy New Year, Rai and Kotaru! Thank you for helping us see the world through a couple new pairs of eyes. May 2011 be a wonderful year!
