Another Buddy Turns One

It's tough getting older. More than just your own aging, it's often hard to see family and friends change and get older, as well. Everyone's heard sad stories of elderly folks scouring the obituaries daily, knowing that every day there is the chance of finding the name of a loved one there.
After your first birthday, Rai, you've taken to reading the obituaries too. In your mind, you're over the hill, an old man.
The good news is that no familiar names have appeared in that part of the newspaper. Instead, it's more likely that you'll find names you know in the special announcements section of the paper -- birth announcements and congratulations to those who have also reached the 1 year milestone! The other day, we celebrated the first birthday of yet another friend of yours. You're not alone Rai, all your buddies are turning one these days. It may seem like a big number (so much bigger than zero) but 1 really isn't all that big. You'll see soon enough that it's possible to be quite a bit older than 1. Happy Birthday to little Aaron!
