Back to Front Roll -- Success!

A month or so ago, Rai, you discovered that, when lying on your back, a quick tuck of the legs and slight shift of weight to the left or right leads to you rolling onto your side. Since then, not a night has gone by that we haven't found you sleeping on your side instead of the on-the-back posture you were trapped in for the first 4 months of your life. Change is good.
Over the past week, you've worked hard to take the roll to the next level. "If I can get to my side, why not beyond..." you thought. And so, a lot of hard work, grunting, pushing and some tears have followed you to victory.
One day not long ago, you made it to your side and decided that this was the day that you'd go even further. So, while on your side, you swung your upper leg forward and used it to propel your hip until that foot touched down, gripped the floor and helped to pivot your body over your bottom shoulder. And, just like that, but still all of a sudden, you were lying on your stomach, a bit shocked and wondering just how you had gotten to be in that position without any help from Mom and Dad.
Since then, you have successfully completed the back to front roll on numerous times but there have never been any witnesses other than your parents so others seem a bit skeptical. Your Grandparents aren't quite convinced that you can do it. So, the proof is below. The first video captures you struggling unsuccessfully (but, oh so close!) to make the full roll. Minutes later, the second video captures the tail end of your effort as you go from side to front and then quickly roll over to your back again. If that quick second video isn't proof enough, I'll do my best to capture the full event next time so that we can offer more convincing coverage of your success!
We know that this enormous milestone means that crawling is just weeks away. Although the apartment is not childproofed yet, we're ready to embrace the next stage. Are you?

  2. O.K., we're finally believers. We witnessed it this morning. Yikes, he'll be in to everything in no time. Baby proofing the house has begun.
