A Visit by the Bounty Hunter

The mysterious Boba Fett is one of the most popular villains of the Star Wars universe. He first appeared in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back where he was hired by Darth Vader to find the Millennium Falcon with its crew of heroes. Although his adventures in space are well documented, very few people know that Boba Fett is actually from Marin County, just north of the San Francisco peninsula.
Where he was born and where he grew up are still as unknown as is the true identity of this bounty hunter, a man hidden always behind a cold, steel mask. What is known, however, is that Boba Fett made his first public appearance, in full costume, at the San Anselmo County Fair on September 24, 1978.
Even then, San Anselmo was a affluent community so we can guess that Boba Fett comes from a wealthy family. Why a rich kid from a region rife with opportunity would follow the path of the lawless, the path of a bounty hunter, is another of the mysteries that surrounds the life of this intriguing character.
When Boba Fett showed up at our place, this question was the least of our worries. More immediate concerns were of the "he's a contract killer, will we make it out alive?" and "is his gun really a laser gun or just a glorified flashlight?" and even "if he's so rich off all that bounty, then why doesn't he replace his dingy, old uniform with a new one?" variety.
Whatever we were thinking, Rai, our actions spoke loud and clear. Your Grandpa and I fell into despair and desperation much too quickly. On our knees, pleading for our lives, we grabbed at the most valuable possession we have and offered it freely, hoping for mercy in return.
