While in Finland, we decided to concentrate on the south, moving between the country's "big" cities, enjoying culture and history, mixed with all the beautiful nature in between. From Helsinki, we traveled northwest towards the port town of Turku with its grand, ancient cathedral and fortress as it's prime historic attractions. Nearby Naantali is a beautiful, waterside town and the Moomin Museum back in Turku is well-worth the visit to feel the magic and history of this Scandinavian treasure. Whil in the Turku area, we enjoyed two of the best accommodations of our trip: an old carriage house and a camper trailer on someone's farm.
