Our Spring holiday couldn't have come at a better time -- everyone was ready for some time off to relax and refocus. We began our local road trip with a night at a wonderful seaside cabin in Tuja, a beautiful beach village not far north of the very popular Saulkrasti. The cabin was simple but that is exactly what we were after. The sunset was stunning and, at 6 a.m., after the roaming chickens and rooster had woken us up, the full moon setting over the Baltic was something we've never seen before - amazing. Before heading north into Estonia, we visited the nearby cliffs and enjoyed this stretch of coast known as the rocky Vidzeme coastline.
