Christmas in Morocco - Days 6-7: The Desert

We knew that we had to get out of Marrakesh the moment we arrived so I quickly arranged for a rental car for the next morning. Despite some initial apprehensions about driving manual in an unfamiliar place with some hectic city driving, this turned out to be one of the best decisions during our trip. Having the freedom to drive where we want and making the high Col du Tichka Pass (2260 meters) over the Atlas Range and into the desert on the other side was exactly what we needed. Our day at Ait Beh Haddou, the most stunning of Morocco's countless desert kasbahs was a highlight of our entire trip. It's an incredible place!
