Christmas in Morocco - Day 8: Imlil

Part of our three day road trip in the mountains and deserts of Morocco brought us to Imlil, the valley town that sits under the highest peaks in the High Atlas mountains. This is the town from which hikers begin the ascent to the summit of Jbel Toubkal which, at 4167 meters, is the highest peak in northern Africa. We weren't going for the summit this time, but getting high up over the valley gave us some stunning mountain views. And, it turns out, we saw more snow in Morocco than we've seen in Latvia so far this winter!
