A Week in Borneo - Days 5 and 6: Karambunai Beach

Over our past few trips with the boys, we've learned that the best way to end every vacation is with a day or two on the beach for the boys. Travel, especially the bus trips along winding roads and the different hotel room every night, is hard for them and some time on the beach does wonders to relax and rejuvenate them. The boys also enjoy a bit of luxury so we've gotten in the habit of finding a good hotel deal for our last night or two. This time, we found a great low season price at the Nexus Resort & Spa so we decided to give our first resort of this kind a try. It was nice and the beach was great but the inauthenticity of the experience will ensure that we won't become the "resort vacation" type of family just yet. We'll take a simple beach hut in a real village over this any day. Still, this experience did give us that chance to admire some large scale Bornean architecture and, again, the boys were loving it so we were happy!
