A trip to Malaysian Borneo usually begins with a choice: Sarawak or
Sabah. We chose Sabah and it's capital Kota Kinabalu was our access town
to Borneo. It's not a pretty city but offers an authentic glimpse into
life in modern Borneo. The waterfront was the highlight with it's lively
fish market. The unattractive collection of concrete buildings that is
this city, however, left us ready to get out into what Borneo is all
about: nature!
