Sunday in Singapore

As Singapore transitions from place to explore to place to call home for us, we look for more local and off-the-beaten tourist track spots to spend or weekends. Last Sunday was one of those days. We began at a small, local farmers' market in the very atmospheric Dempsey Hill, historic British barracks turned up-market arts and dining district, did an afternoon hike along the Macritchie Reservoir, and finished at the National Library downtown. After the Library, we took a stroll down Waterloo Street, one of Singapore's most historic streets with five faiths represented with places of worship in just one block. Along this street, we saw some street performers and lots of traditional stalls including an acupuncturist using "inherited chopsticks" to do his work. Exciting but 'normal', just the day we wanted. Sometimes we crave adventure and sometimes we crave familiarity. Considering that, I'm sure that we have a lot more weekends like this one to come.
