Happy 7th Birthday, Rai!

Rai is seven years old. It feels very strange writing that. It' hard to believe that we are parents of a seven year old. For Rai, this birthday will be one he will remember forever -- his first birthday overseas, a birthday at a new school, with new friends from around the world, and in a foreign country that has become a second home for him. We had the big birthday party at our condo yesterday with lots of Rai's friends from school attending. It was a great time!  Meanwhile, a good indicator of how Rai is doing is the student-led parent conference he had with his teacher and Ash last week. I couldn't make it but, Ash tells me that she was stunned by the event - Rai's articulation and presentation of his learning this year was an incredible experience highlighting his intelligence, compassion, engagement and growth in reading and writing skills!  It's an exciting time and, as we look ahead to his eighth year, there are so many wonderful adventures on the horizon!  Happy birthday, Rai! We love you and are proud of you more every single day!
