Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Happy Lunar New Year 2016! Despite it's diversity, Singapore is predominantly Chinese so this is a big holiday here. We are currently enjoying a 4-day weekend and made sure to make our New Year's Day visit to some important temples in Chinatown yesterday. We were so obviously disoriented when making our rounds of offerings that some people helped us out, making sure that we would not offend any gods. Then, this morning, we enjoyed a very lively lion dance ceremony at our condo. Following this elaborate affair, our entire building will enjoy prosperity for the entire year. That's good to know. Also, the Chinese New Year is when we celebrate our wedding anniversary every year. Twelve years ago on this date, we were married in San Francisco's City Hall with the entrance of a pair of lion dancers marking the end of our ceremony. Happy New Year everyone!
