willingly. Eventually, after running around naked and pooing and peeing all over himself many times, he decided that the potty is more than just a seat -- he actually peed in it. It may be sad to say, but when we saw that pee in the potty, that was the most proud we've ever been of our little Kotaru. Seeing our pride, feeling it as if it was something tangible, for the next few days, he actually said, "Pee pee coming", went to the potty, and peed in it! It was glorious! Then, the coup de resistance: "Poo poo coming," and, lo and behold, a beautiful, incredible snake of a turd, floating in the pee. Like trapped miners, we welcomed that pee and poo soup like a gourmet meal. We relished in it. The next day, Ko rejected the potty. It's like the previous week had never happened. Actually, he decided that any chair could be a potty. More than that, who even needs to sit down. Why not just pee and poo everywhere. Even more, instead of telling Mom and
Dad before it comes, why not just pee and poo freely, anywhere, and tell them after it happens. He peed in the Markleeville General Store (several times), he peed in the car, he pooed on the floor in REI, he pooed on the floor in Grandma and Grandpa's house. Anyplace, anytime, Everywhere is fair game. At the end of the day, we just have to sigh and accept it. After all, this is Ko. This is Ko. And, you may have noticed, this is probably the longest story I've written in months. I guess it's therapeutic because even Ko's cuteness isn't letting him get away with this -- for the first time, I'm upset with him. Slow breaths, Daddy. This is Ko.
