Two Days, Two Seasons
Having grown up in Canada, I'm no stranger to the wild extremes that are possible in early Spring when warm weather begins to creep in but, every time it does, the winter tries desperately to take hold again. Last week, we experienced that here in Latvia, too. Sunday was a beautiful, warm, sunny day with blue skies. We went out to the beach and enjoyed the warmth and colors -- golden sand, green trees, blue skies and waves. The very next day, on Monday afternoon, low clouds rolled in and it started to snow. And, this wasn't just any snow, it was our biggest storm of the entire winter. Mesmerized by the beauty of it, we rushed out into our favorite forest at Ragakapa and walked to the beach. It was hard to believe that this was the same beach we had been on just 24 hours before...
