Yesterday, we had our shortest day of the year with a sunrise after 9 a.m. and a sunset soon after 3:30 p.m. giving us barely 6 hours of daylight. This is about 11 hours less daylight than the summer solstice in June when the sun is out for about 18 hours! Those long summer days feel like a lifetime ago but the darkness doesn't depress us as much as it does some others. The good amount of snow that fell throughout the week helps to keep things brighter while the sun is out and Rai's new drone gives us a great aerial perspective on our snowy neighborhood.
