This year, Latvia turned 100 years old, since its initial independence in 1918, following WWI. A week of celebrations turned Riga into a city of lights and fireworks and, for a brief time, the darkness of winter could be forgotten. Since we celebrated 50 years in Singapore, and now 100 here in Latvia, our shortlist of countries in which we can work next is now limited to nations celebrating 150 years of independence in the coming years. The only country on that list is Peru which will celebrate 150 in 2029. I guess we're headed there next and staying there for a while...
