Gauja National Park
Canoeing down the Gauja River is one the of the must-do Spring and Summer activities in Latvia so, when we got the invite for a small group trip into the Park over a recent long weekend, we were the first to sign up. Our canoe trip took us down the smaller, fast-flowing, and winding Brasla River before it joined the Gauja River about two kilometers upstream from our campground. At the campground, the black sauna was fired up and the natural hot tub ready to go, which is where I, now infamously, spent most of the rest of the weekend. This is exactly why we love Latvia so much.
