Long on our list of places to visit but as yet unvisited was the Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle. Yesterday, we made the long journey west and into the hills and forests surrounding the Nanyang Technological University, in search of this pottery center. What we found was something unexpected, an oasis of serenity and nostalgia, hidden far from the rush and clamour of modern Singapore. We can count on one hand places like this on the island. It's rustic and untouched and feels so far removed from the rest of Singapore that we literally felt peace wash over us as we arrived. Although in short supply, it's good to see that places like these remain preserved and hidden away in the forests of Singapore.
