Chinese Heritage Center

Just re-opened in the heart of Chinatown is the Chinese Heritage Center a small but wonderfully immersive museum. The goal is to re-create life in a traditional Singaporean shophouse a century ago. As we moved from front to back, then ground level to upper level, we found ourselves more and more transported back in time, witnessing what life was like for Chinese settlers in the British colony of Singapore. And, as is always the case, the more we learn about the history of a people, the more we understand their way of life and perspective today.
