Rain, Rain, Come Our Way

Last week, it was difficult to hear the news without hearing some news about the drought in California. Reservoirs at their lowest levels in decades, small towns preparing for a complete lack of water this summer, wild fires, and little to no snowfall in the Sierra Nevada. These were the things being discussed. Last week, the skies were blue, the weather warm and trees were already blossoming as if Spring were already here. A few days ago, to everyone's relief, all that changed! We're in the midst of a big rainstorm and northern California is happy. There will be 9 inches of rain over this weekend in the city and several feet of snow in the mountains. Despite this respite, California will still be at only 25% of it's normal level of precipitation for this time of year. Let's hope there are more February storms on the way!
