We've had a hot, hot week in the Bay Area and all over California. In the short term, that means some
beautiful days in San Francisco and lots of people enjoying the outdoors and the beach. In the big picture, and in the long term, this is not good news at all. Beginning of May conditions resemble typical weather in July and August. That means more wildfires, more drought,
and less water in the State. In fact, 2013 was the worst year for snow in the Sierra Nevada in a long, long time. The snowpack is at less than 20% of normal and that means a lot less water for the entire State this Spring, Summer and Fall. We just hope that this is some cyclical thing and not a sign of larger climate change as the Sierra Nevada climate change worst case scenario is something we hope to never see.
