Summer Travels - Iceland: The North
Driving across the north, we felt farther from the world outside than anywhere else in Iceland. The Arctic Circle was very close, and it felt like it and, although the Arctic winds were blowing through, we kept warm at some wonderful hot springs at Myvatn and, later, at Grettislaug. Iceland's second city, Akureyri was nothing but a small town, but made for a city break from the elemental and wild feel outside these city streets.
