Hallowe'en 2018

Sometimes, it's tough to be in places where familiar things are unfamiliar. As in Singapore, Hallowe'en is not much of an event here in Latvia. It's tough not to share events that were part of our childhood with the boys. Still, there are enough Americans and Canadians here to bring this day to life. We visited the U.S. Embassy for their annual Hallowe'en party and haunted house. Then, with a bunch of friends, we made the best of Hallowe'en night itself, going trick or treating around the Saliena community not far from us. One of ten homes had their lights on and were handing out candy so it was certainly better than nothing at all. Best of all, the boys were more interested in trading in their candy for dimes and nickels at the end of the night than eating it. Good times!
