The Last Hurrah!

Our last summer day at the cabin came much too quickly. We decided to end our summer here in style and grandeur. We drove almost 2 hours south to Lee Vining and the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. From there, we drove a dusty, dirt road to Saddleback Lake at just over 10,000 feet. There, we took a water taxi to the far end of the lake and hiked the amazing 20 Lakes Basin. We counted the lakes we passed along the 5 mile loop and, it turns out, there are more than twenty. It was an an incredibly beautiful hike. Then, on our way back to the cabin, although it was already 6 p.m. and we had 1.5 hours of driving ahead of us, we decided to stop at Buckeye hot springs for a 2.5 hour soak. We just couldn't leave and that's just how we feel about the cabin.
